Bio

Professor Andrew is a second-degree black belt under Joshua Miller, also an amazing father, husband, and one of the greatest professors of Gracie Barra.

He has been training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu for 13 years with 10 years’ experience teaching children and adults. While he has experience teaching both children and adults his specialty is with children (ages 3-16).

Professor Andrew is an avid competitor from white to black belt. He is from Columbia, SC and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from USC Aiken.

“I really enjoy nourishing, guiding and witnessing their confidence and self-esteem flourish through this amazing martial art. I’m a big anti-bullying advocate and strive to make sure every child is fully equipped with the tools, when necessary, to handle any situation that is presented to them whether it means walking away or fighting back. I am extremely passionate about my teaching in this art and look forward to being part of your own Jiu-jitsu journey” – Andrew

Back in 2013 Andrew moved to Orange/Los Angeles county to peruse his jiu-jitsu dream to be a full-time competitor and teacher. Being in California also opened many doors for him granting him amazing opportunities like being sparring partners to great UFC fighters such as; Marvin Vettori, Rafael Dos Anjos, Beneil Dariush, Giga Chikadze, Bubba Jenkins, and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

A few years ago professor Andrew moved back to Charleston with his family and now we will have the opportunity to see him spreading his knowledge throughout Gracie Barra Charleston.
